Overview

The Splinterlands team is extremely excited to present the INITIAL DRAFT for phase 2 (version 0.2) of the heavily anticipated land expansion, entitled The Secret of Praetoria!

While the interim phase 1.5 will hopefully give players a taste of what it is like to stake cards and DEC onto their land and begin producing resources, phase 2 will unleash the full vision of allowing players to build their own businesses in-game by utilizing their land within an extremely rich and complex economic ecosystem. In phase 2 players will have the opportunity to choose between over 30 different buildings to construct and will need to produce and/or manage over 50 different resources in order to build their empire.

This document contains a high-level overview of all of the buildings, resources, and other features of the Secret of Praetoria expansion which will be part of this phase of development. It does not currently contain any of the lower-level details, including specific numbers for things such as building construction and upgrade costs or resource production outputs. The details of the phase 2 economy will be designed over the coming months as we build out models and observe player behavior in phase 1.5 and this document will be updated as those details become available.

Finally, we want to remind everyone that this is only a draft and that EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE from what is specified here in the final product release. The purpose of this document is to let the community know what we are planning as early as possible; however, as we work on development and playtesting it is inevitable that it will be necessary to make changes and adjustments in order to ensure that the final product is as solid and high quality as possible.

Please note that changes to this document may be made at any time and may affect any part of the designs without requiring any prior notice or consent from the player community. In some cases the team may submit an SPS governance proposal to allow the SPS stakeholder community to weigh in on certain aspects or proposed changes to the designs, however please keep in mind that the results of such a vote are non-binding as it relates to the design of the Secret of Praetoria expansion.
