Phase 1.5 Initial Specification

The Splinterlands team is extremely excited to present the initial plan for phase 1.5 of the heavily anticipated land expansion, entitled The Secret of Praetoria!

By adding a release in between phase 1 (land surveying) and phase 2 (buildings & resources) we can allow players to start utilizing their land, begin to get the benefits of massively increased utility for cards and DEC, and playtest some of the core systems and mechanics before the release of the full second phase.

We are currently hoping to release phase 1.5 (including everything in this document) before the end of the second quarter of this year, however this is quite a large undertaking so it is possible that it slips into Q3. We will do our best to keep the community updated on the progress as often as possible.

The goal for phase 1.5 is to build and release certain parts of the system that will eventually become part of the full phase 2 release, including card staking, DEC staking, and some initial resource production. Please keep in mind that this is simply the initial plan and that everything is subject to change from what is specified here in both phase 1.5 and in future phases, including all of the mechanics, resources, names, numbers, etc. as we work through the development and playtesting.
